About Us

Height Comparison Tools is a free, independent website for comparing heights visually. It is an independent project, started to offer a height comparison chart that is fast, works well on a phone and never hides useful features behind an account or a paywall.

Everything works in twelve languages and is free to use, with no sign-up and no watermark on downloads.

How the charts work

Every figure is drawn to exact scale from the number you enter, on a ruler that shows centimeters and feet side by side. The chart runs entirely in your browser. Names, heights and uploaded images are never sent to a server, and share links carry the chart inside the link itself.

Where the heights come from

Heights of athletes come from league and team rosters. Heights of actors and musicians come from agency profiles and widely published interviews. Character heights come from official guidebooks and studio character sheets where they exist. Landmark heights come from the bodies that manage them, and animal and dog breed heights from standard references such as breed standards.

Reported heights of people often differ by a centimeter or two between sources, so every figure on this site should be read as a close estimate. If you spot a mistake, please contact us with a source and it will be corrected.

Data sources

Country averages are rounded estimates based on the pooled analysis of adult height published by the NCD Risk Factor Collaboration. Planet sizes, masses and gravity come from the NASA Planetary Fact Sheet and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
